This is the latest addition to the monocular range that LOOKS like a binocular,
but isn’t.
It comes with its own high/low power on-board illuminators, that allow
the unit
to see out to approximately 200 yards. It has a x5 mag lens system
making
100 yards seem like 20.
Unlike other Nightvision systems, the image seen is in greyscales, rather
than
shades of green. The image quality isn’t quite up to Generation II standards,
but
its light sensitivity is well beyond that, and approaches Gen III.
In
fact the unit
is accurately described as a semi-covert system.
If you need
to
look over your front or rear garden to find the cat, you’ll be able to watch
without anyone knowing you are there.
Unlike other units using image
intensifying tubes, you don’t need to worry
about street lights ‘cooking’ the tube.
There’s also a ‘video-out’ socket,
in case you need to record anything you’ve
seen through the monocular.
Being digital you will want
to invest in some Nickel-Metal Hydride [Ni-MH]
batteries.
We recommend 2500mAh
or better, unless you expect to use the
unit in a car, and
an adapter is provided
for in-car use.
This unit is currently our most popular line and comes with a 3 year warranty!
