European (DEP) Premium tubed
If you have had any previous exposure to Nightvision equipment you will be familiar with the term Gen II or Gen II+ which refers to Second Generation image intensifier tubes. Most web sites in America offer a Gen II+ product which is nothing like the quality available from a DEP tubed product.
As a single point of reference, the line pairs of the US made Gen II+ equipment is typically around 30. DEP tubes start at around 45 lines pairs and get as high as 72.
This is the same sort of image quality available in the most expensive Gen III equipment only available to the Military or Security services.
East European tubed
Without question, every Generation I and quite a lot of Generation II/II+ tubed Nightvision offered for sale anywhere, will be using image intensifiers supplied from Eastern Europe. The quality of the East European Gen II+ tubes surpasses the older American Gen II+ equipment.
As a single point of reference, the line pairs of the US made Gen II+ equipment is typically around 30. The East European is typically 40 line pairs, which is quite an improvement.
